The launching of the cages is an important festive event in the Magdalen Islands which offers the opportunity for Magdaleners to gather on the docks for the departure of the boats and the launch of the lobster fishing season.

With the frenzy and activity that precedes, the tension increases until dawn of departure. We won't sleep much that night and the fishermen like sprinters are literally in the starter blocks waiting for the rocket launched by a Fisheries and Oceans Canada official.
