Mi-Carême is a celebration of Acadian origin that is still present in certain cities in Quebec and the Maritimes. In the Islands, it is the inhabitants of the village of Fatima who celebrate it, but we can now count participants from other parishes.

From house to house, the Mi-Carêmes enter in costume with guitar and violin. When they are unmasked, they are offered a glass of beer or bagosse (home made beer)...
